The National Emphysema Treatment Trial (NETT) Patient Testing Information All patients entering NETT must undergo stringently standardized testing at a NETT certified site. This is done to assure the highest quality research data is obtained. No outside testing is allowed to be included as part of NETT, but previous tests, if you have them, can let us know if you would be a good NETT candidate. The initial testing for NETT consists of numerous tests on pulmonary (lung) and cardiac (heart) function as well as quality of life measures and pulmonary rehabilitation assessment. This testing usually takes place over 3-5 days, preceded by a physician visit and followed by us notifying you of either your continued eligibility for the rehabilitation phase or the reason why you were found ineligible.
We do make every effort to streamline testing for those patients coming from out of town. while also considering who tiring these tests and the travel can be for our patients.
