Mark S. Pian, MD is the San Diego Cystic Fibrosis Center
Director. He is a pediatric pulmonologist and is based at UCSD
Children's Hospital and is an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatric
Pulmonology. He is currently on the Board of Directors at the Cystic
Fibrosis Foundation and is a premier researcher in the area of CF
treatment. Mark was a graduate of UCSD and did his residency and
fellowship at UCSF. He enjoys surfing and traveling and lives with
his wife and children in San Diego. Antine
Stenbit, MD, Phd, is a new attending physician that is assisting with our
Adult Cystic Fibrosis patients. |
Douglas J Conrad,
MD is the Director of the Adult CF program at UCSD Thornton
Hospital. He is an adult pulmonologist and is based at the VA Medical
Center in San Diego. He is an Associate Clinical Professor whose
special interest is research and regulation of pulmonary inflammation in
CF and asthma. He was trained at the University of Minnesota and has
done two fellowships at UCSF. Dr. Conrad is a master swimmer and
enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters.

Amy Brown, LCSW has been the Clinical Social Worker
for the Adult CF Center for two years. Previously, she was Social
Work Supervisor at UCSD Hillcrest. She is an Associate Clinical
Instructor for the Department of Medicine. Amy obtained her Bachelor and
Master degrees from Syracuse University in New York. Amy's
interests are hiking, scuba diving, photography and gourmet cooking. She
lives with her husband and two children in Rancho Penasquitos. |

Sandy Salzedo is our Clinical Dietitian at the UCSD
CF Center. She completed her undergraduate degree from San Diego
State University, (SDSU) in December 1998. She completed her dietetic
internship at SDSU through the College of Extended Studies. She also has
a Masters of Science in Nutritional Sciences from there as well.
She has been working as a Clinical Dietitian for CF for three
years. She is originally from Mexico, of Colombian descent.
She lives with her husband and their cat, Zurich, in La Jolla. She
enjoys outdoor activities such as running and mountain biking. |

Mike Farrell, RN is the Nurse Coordinator for the
Adult CF Center. Mike obtained his BSN from Arizona State
University. He has a long history of pediatrics, ICU nursing, and
is an infusion specialist. His outside interests include running
and he is involved in organizing neighborhood and church
activities. He is a very involved family man with two boys and a wife of
13 years. They reside in Poway |

Deborah Hostler is the Administrative Assistant at
the Adult CF Center. She attended UCB before moving to San Diego
with her husband and two children. Her medical background comes
from coursework at Southwestern University in Chula Vista and Mira Costa
College. She has been with the Adult CF Center for almost two
years. Her outside interests include cooking, entertaining and
writing. |

Jim Murdock, RT, is the Respiratory Therapist at the
Adult CF Center. He received his AS degree from Northeastern
University in Boston in Respiratory Therapy. Prior to that, Jim
served in the US Navy for four years as a Corpsman. Jim has worked
with newborns up to and including geriatric patients during the course of his 25 years
career as a Respiratory Therapist. He enjoys physical fitness and
is the father of 5 daughters. |
