Pulmonary Vascular Program

On December 6 and 7, 2004, Lewis J. Rubin, MD hosted nearly 25 cardiologists, pulmonologists and rheumatologists that traveled to La Jolla, California from as far away as Japan, Austria, Brazil, Spain, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and Canada-12 countries in all-to observe our world-renowned Pulmonary Vascular Program and participate in a two-day State-of-the-Art course.

Dr. Rubin was joined by local experts Richard N. Channick, MD, Kim Kerr, MD, Hyong "Nick" Kim, MD, Ronald Oudiz, MD (UCLA), Jason Yuan, MD, PhD, Gordon Yung, MD, the Program's nurses, Sandee Lombardi, RN and Johanna van Dijk, RN, and its clinical coordinators, Katie Kinninger, RCP and Diane Conger, RCP to present material on the basic and clinical aspects of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, with an emphasis on diagnosis and management. Lectures were supplemented with small group sessions and case-management conferences, to highlight common and less frequent pitfalls and treatment strategies.
