Prerequisites

Applicants to the combined Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship program are expected to have completed a three-year ACGME accredited internal medicine program prior to starting their fellowship training. Some uniquely qualified individuals may be accepted after two years of residency training, typically in coordination with a Physician-Scientist Training Program (PSTP).

Foreign medical school graduates with ECFMG, VQE, or Flex certificates may be considered, if under permanent resident status. We do not generally accept applicants with H-1B or J-1 visa status because these trainees are not supported by our National Institutes of Health (NIH) training grant. However, please submit your application if you feel it is exceptional. Documentation and proof of visa status are required.

We value diversity and strive to create a diverse educational environment within our division that focuses on practicing and teaching health equity. We encourage applicants from a wide variety of backgrounds.
