Join Our Research Team!
The UCSD Sleep Research Laboratory has a wide range of training and working opportunities from high school students up through senior faculty members.
Faculty, Research Fellows, and Post-doctoral Training in Sleep Medicine Research
As part of the UCSD Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, we maintain our dedication to a training program that includes every phase of academic career development, from predoctoral trainees to senior faculty members, with all levels of faculty participating in formal mentorship training. Together in collaboration with the Division of Physiology, multidiscliplinary research is encouraged for a unique and individulized experience. Faculty mentors aim to integrate basic and clinical science, training PhDs and MDs to work collaboratively on their way to becoming the independent investigators of the future.
If you are an MD or PhD and would like to know more about research opportunities with the UCSD Sleep Research team, please email Dr. Atul Malhotra at amalhotra@ucsd.edu.
Graduate Students
The UCSD Sleep Research Laboratory welcomes the opportunity for training graduate students in sleep research. Masters and PhD students receive training in learning to be independent researchers with novel ideas and questions while participating in the group effort of collaborative science.
If you are a current or prospective UCSD graduate student interested in training with the Sleep Research team, please email Dr. Atul Malhotra at amalhotra@ucsd.edu.
Undergraduates
The Sleep Research team is often looking for undergraduate student workers seeking research experience, on a volunteer basis or for academic credit. If you are a current UCSD student interested in volunteer research work during the school year or for the summer, please contact us at sleepresearch@ucsd.edu.
